Product description

Like its insect namesake, the Spyderco Ladybug is beneficial and advantageous to humans. An indispensible tool for daily life, this handy knife is small, innocuous, easily carried on a keychain, and ideal for thousands of everyday cutting chores. The Ladybug's modified clip-point VG-10 stainless steel blade is hollow-ground and uniformly thick from heel to tip for durability and strength. Its FRN (fiberglass-reinforced-nylon) handle is Bi-Directionally Textured® and comfortably shaped to ensure a secure grip and positive control. Despite its small size, its Trademark Round Hole is fully functional and supports one-handed opening with either hand. The blade locks open via a back lock mechanism, and a lanyard hole allows easy attachment to a keychain or thong. This version of the Ladybug features a black FRN handle.

    « Spyderco Ladybug 3 »
Great knife; my second one. Knew some Seals in the Delta that took these out on patrol (won't say where they put them).

    « handy and sharp »
This is my third ladybug. Yes, they are small and easy to loose, but I love it! It's sharp, handy and has a great feel. Sypderco easy open blade that locks securely. I'm not easy on it, I use it like any other knife. I will agree it's a little expensive, but I think it's worth the price.

    « Does not keep it's edge. »
I had this model about 10 years ago. that was stolen by a friend.
that knife never seemed to lose it's edge, but when I got this one about 6 months ago about 2 weeks of light usage, the blade was already worn down.
I would have recommended this more, it still cuts but just not as sharp.

« Best keychain knife! Great value! »
I've been using these for years. They hold up. The steel holds an edge well, and the flat part is easy to sharpen on a stone. The grip is good enough for bigger jobs than a little knife would seem to be able to handle. The serrated part cuts through tough things, including high-tech sailing/camping line. I'm a pretty frugal guy about most things, but this knife is worth the few bucks extra a spyderco costs.

Everyone in my family has one on their keychain. They get used for all sorts of things. Once you have one on your keychain you'll wonder how you lived without it.

    « Fits inside change pocket! :) »
This knife does not have the usual clip on the side you can use to put on your pants but it's small enough to fit inside the change pocket in a pair of jeans. I like it but when you hold on to it unfolded, it's only large enough to grip it with two fingers. But, I really love it because you don't look like a criminal carrying it around and it's great for emergencies like cutting open those impossible-to-open plastic packages. (With great care though because you can only grip it with two fingers, plus it's so small, it seems dangerous when you're closing it.)

I'd like to say for a full size knife, I prefer the Spyderco Flight. And for a medium sized one, the Spyderco Robin is my favorite given it's the right size and weight to carry around and still large enough to hold with a good grip.
